HEKS, a Swiss International NGO, supported by the Swiss Protestant churches, is committed to justice, peace and the sustainable development. HEKS aims to make a contribution to greater equality and prosperity for rural communities across the globe by strengthening the structures of civil society. HEKS specifically focusses on enabling the rural poor to gain access to land and (natural) resources, on integrating them in profitable, sustainable value chains and on stimulating their peaceful coexistence. The core competency of HEKS lies in pursuing a holistic approach to development cooperation. This places particular emphasis on the strengthening of target-group specific measures to reduce poverty and discrimination, embedded in a rights-based approach to development. HEKS focuses on the two key issues "Development of rural communities" and "Conflict Transformation“
HEKS Cambodia is the Cambodian coordination office of HEKS Switzerland to coordinate and monitor the projects of its partner organizations. HEKS Cambodia’s Country Programme 2014-2017 is focused on Conflict Transformation (CT) and Developing Rural Communities (DevRC) that complement each other in terms of thematic intervention areas. These thematic interventions respond to the overall programme goal: “Improved self-determination and sustainable livelihood of rural communities in Cambodia”.
For supporting the implementation of the Cambodia Country Programme, HEKS Office Cambodia is seeking two qualified and experienced programme officers (POs): One Senior PO for Development of Rural Communities (SPO-DevRC) and one PO for Conflict Transformation (PO-CT) based in the HEKS Office in Phnom Penh. Both POs will be responsible for supporting and monitoring partner organization projects and assisting various activities of the HEKS Cambodia Office.
