Since it’s inception in 2009 Ibis Rice has been working with communities within the protected forest of the Northern plains of Cambodia. By working with the communities and authorities, land-use plans are developed which define small scale agricultural land, village location and of course the protected forest, but importantly give the communities security in their location. Once in place we support the production, processing and marketing of a premium, chemical-free, fragrant jasmine rice which generates a premium for the farmer. Produced to and monitored by WCS conservation compliance and certified Wildlife Friendly™. Ibis Rice both pulls the farmers from the poverty trap and protects the last remaining worldwide population of the Giant Ibis, no.1 on the EDGE list (Evolutionarily Distinct and Globally Endangered). Hence making this the most important rice pound for pound in the world (and the most delicious).

We now work with 1000 households across 18 villages, supplying all the major food retailers and many prestigious hotels in Cambodia with the highest quality, grade 'A Pkha Malis'
