Marie Stopes International Cambodia (MSIC) is one of the leading sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services provider in Cambodia. We provide contraception, safe abortion and other SRH services like sexually transmitted disease (STI) screening and treatment, safe motherhood and cervical cancer screening. We empower our clients to make decisions on their own SRH destiny. This may mean choosing when to start a family, when to end an unintended pregnancy or when to have the next child. We are here to support our client’s needs in order for them to pursue their plans and dreams for themselves and their families.
MSIC delivery network includes:
- Six (6) static clinics based in Chbar Ampov in Phnom Penh, Battambang, Takhmao, Siem Reap, Kampong Thom and Svay Rieng
- A mobile outreach team for providing long acting and permanent contraceptive methods
- Social marketing program of 3 products – Mariprist (medical abortion), Femplant (contraceptive implant) and Pregnancy Test Kit
- Hotline for all SRH related inquiries and bookings
MSIC is also a lead agency for technical assistance and capacity building for government, NGO and private sector partners in service provision and counseling. We support these channels to deliver a range of quality SRH services including:
- 463 public health facilities such as health centers and referral hospitals
- 22 garment factory infirmaries
- 530 private providers such as clinics, cabinets, and pharmacies
MSIC has a strong history of clinical expertise and a pioneering commitment to bringing services to women who need the most. However, as the contraceptive market has evolved, the challenges involved in increasing contraceptive uptake have gone beyond expansion of service access to a question of marketing and battling entrenched myths and fears.
With an eye towards the future, MSIC recently finished a consumer insight and segmentation study to better understand the needs, preferences and barriers of women when it comes to using modern contraception.
Goals
Based on these insights, MSIC would like to develop a marketing campaign with creative concepts that will draw interest and uptake of modern contraception and increased awareness of safe abortion options among our target segments.
